I think it can sometimes be down to the monitor your using, and the resolution. I run my xbox on a 22" widescreen monitor using the vga cable, and I sometimes feel theres no AA in any games. My guess is there is AA, but the image is somehow being distorted ever so slightly. Thus the graphics aren't smooth and can be jaggy.
