i have been halo 2 recently on my xbox (older one) and all of a sudden it says i failed to load some maps, so i reset it expecting it to get better. When it booted back up it says "Please insert a blah blah blah valid disc". The disc has basically stayed i my xbox for the last 6 months so its not dirty or scratched. anyone know why its doing this?
thanks

Sounds like the DVD drive on your Xbox is dying. You can buy replacements on the 'bay. Happened to me and that's what I did. It voids your warranty but it's easy to do (just like intalling one in a PC).

Same thing happened to my PS2 but unfortunately the only option was to buy a new one for £90. Grrr.

thanks, just had a look, it looks cheaper to buy a working xbox then a replacement drive ;) might be able to hold on till xmas and hope santa brings me a nice shiny 360 :D
