EDIT: Don't know how to change the title but its meant to be Cancelling Auto-Renewal :(

Xbox are an absolute joke here. Their whole website works perfectly fine but co-incidently as soon as you click "Turn-off Auto Renewal" its suddenly broken.

I tried it a few months back and reported the issue when i rung up and cancelled and thought it was just a funny coincidence but now i come back after restarting it for GOW3 to cancel again and funnily enough it's still broken :|

Drives me insane!!

Anyone else have this problem before?

You can cancel recurring subscription via the website now? I vowed never to touch Microsoft products ever again simply because I couldn't cancel mine even after phoning them up (they forced me on hold for over an hour). I had to tell my bank to unauthorize any Microsoft transactions in the end.

Yeh you just sign in and is says:

Auto-Renewal: (change?)

you click on that and choose "off"

but then i always get this message : An error occurred cancelling automatic renewal.

last time i tried to remove card details and cancel an auto renewal i had the same problem, i ended up having to ring microsoft and ask them to do it for me

Last time I cancelled an old xbox live account I had to phone up and provide all sorts of information for them.

I just used it to purchase Xbox Live Gold.

Immediately I went to cancel the auto-renewal via the website and it worked as expected.

However, I attempted to remove my card details, which didn't work. I assume it's because they need the info until the transaction has been finalised - so I'll try again in a few days.

i remember it being a pain up the backside removing my CC details from the account. My young son accidently purchased an additonal 12month XBOX live, because he was trying to play on my PC using a 360 controller that was supposedly sync'd to the PC, however i had it sync'd to my 360, and a few presses on the buttons and without knowing he'd purchased another 12months of subscription, overwriting my existing remaining 9months.

Everything Microsoft does is for a reason. And that reason is ........To take your money.

Sure they could easily have a system in place, that will allow you to remove your CC details, or ensure a pin before you purchase.. But that's not their style.

I almost feel like a sucker owning a 360, when the PS3, give you much better control and FOC online.
