Xbox.com

No because as soon as I say 'no' I am not a member of Xbox Live, it prompts me to sign up and choose a gamertag etc.. and dirtydog is taken ;(

Btw it doesn't let me choose my DOB either, it is stuck on 31/12/1973.

Just tried to view the forums - works fine for me with a .NET account

edit: bit annoying, I just went back to the site and it was stuck on the registration wizard - had to cancel out of it with a few more mouse clicks than I think should be necessary.

Hmm that's weird. It doesn't get to the point where it prompts me for a username and password or I could try my .NET details. Even if I say 'yes' I am a member of Xbox live, it still prompts me to sign up!

Just cancel out of it? I'm already signed into my hotmail account on this computer so I think I'm getting access because of that. I should point out that I'm only viewing the forums not posting in them.

Hmm okay I just clicked sign out at the top right.. then signed back in with my .NET details. Then it goes straight back to the Xbox.com registration page.

Can you not cancel out of the registration page altogether then just sign into your hotmail account and navigate back from there? Maybe delete some cookies as a last resort?

It seems to detect that you don't have a 'signed-in' xbox live cookie, and straight away demands that you register. It does this even if I click on links found on google, eg. the page which shows which titles are backwards compatible.

I think this must be a glitch because the Xbox.com site is a showcase for the Xbox consoles and their software. It would be ridiculous to make people register just to view basic stuff about the Xbox.

Well guess what, after clicking a few pages on xbox.com, it jumps back to the registration page again..grr! I tried blocking cookies and it said you need them enabled.

I give up :/

edit - clearing the cache and deleting the cookies again seems to have worked, for now.. nice website coding job there...
