Xbox controller for non FPS games?

I was thinking that maybe I should buy an Xbox controller to play Skyrim, Assassins Creed and all those non FPS games, but don't know if it's worth it or if it's practical and functional, does someone use it and can share your opinion?

yes its a great bit of kit, things like assassins creed are much better with it. wouldn't play skyrim on it in a million years though

Definitely worth it, works straight out the box. I play Skyrim and Assassin's Creed with it plus lots of others too.

Sometimes it's nice to just sit back in your chair and use a pad.

£13 wireless receiver for windows, highly recommended, so much better than having an irritating cable in the way with a wired controlled.

You've just reminded me as well...i need to get back to assassins creed soon.

No, it's not. It's terrible for Skyrim, especially if you mod the interface or use the extra controls.

I use it for most games.

Skyrim, Dirt3, Fifa 12 ect.

I love it.

i use mine mainly for sports games, though i bought terra a week ago and have been using it for playing that

The games you mention are 360 games anyway so I would hope controller support is adequate.

i really liked using my 360 controller with a wireless receiver, but it has now stopped working and cant figure out what is wrong with it

Worked really well for dead space and Allan wake. Racing games are pretty good for it too
