Can I use an old xbox 360 controller on my pc? I guess I need the wireless gaming reciever but will my controller work as it came with the xbox I bought ages ago or do I have to buy one that says compatible with windows?

I was playing fifa on the pc and it's so damn hard play using a keyboard!!!:p

The receiver should work with all x360 controllers so you will only need to buy the wireless receiver for the PC.

I bought the wired version just over half a decade ago (29/06/2006) for £17.99. Works great but if I get any problems with it, I'll post on here:)

Thanks, I bought the receiver it should come soon but also a new controller so I can have the old one as a spare or for two player.

It's a bit annoying that the recharger kit only comes with one rechargeable battery so I need another one for the new controller.

The controller is the one of best thing about the 360, the most ergonomic and comfortable controller I've ever used. Never need to buy a dedicated pc controller again, wireless with usb adapter works brilliantly on pc.

The wireless adapters are hard to track down, you can get replica Chinese ones but I've had nothing but trouble with them. I bought a wired one a few months back and it's been great.

I just bought one of the £9 chinese ones of eBay and it works great (following a guide to get it installed properly, took like 2 minutes).

The receiver and wireless controller work perfectly, I don't know why I've waited this long to get one. I can now play racing and football games without totally sucking at it!

The charger kit that came with the controller actually plugs into the PC as well using the USB slot and I can play while it is charging as the cable is nice and long. My old charger just plugs into the mains and I had to detach the battery from the controller so it was unusable while charging. Good stuff.
