xbox controller or keyboard and mouse?

This is the PC gamer section.

Though I will say I prefer a controller for fighters and racing.

Controller for racing/fighting/sports games, Assassins Creed was good with one too, games like that work well with a controller.
Everything else should be played with a mouse and keyboard.

FPS should never be played with a controller, Mouse all the way.

Would a PS2 controller be suitable to use on a PC if I was going to use a controller or would their be any compatibility issues or such? Sorry for hijacking.

A PS2 controller will work fine if you use the right adapter and software.

360 controllers are best for PC though as they have become standardised somewhat for this platform. In other words, many games work perfectly with the 360 pad without any fiddling around. :)

As for the OP, it depends on the genre of the game as has already been mentioned.

Dependant on the game and person playing the game.

This, I recently completed Dark Siders with the Xbox pad, was much better to use (was a game port so makes sense), also Dirt2 or racing games in general, can't control trottle very well on keyboard or turning. Footy games too.

I'm a PC gamer through and through, the game controllers have their advantages in many games like I mentioned above. It just down to what game it is.

What you mean by this?

why the roll eyes?

What i mean is the l2/r2 buttons on the ps2 pad are just buttons whereas games like gta and some racing games use the analogue triggers off the 360 /ps32 pad. (they aren't just on or off they have continuous effect like the sticks).

also all the racing games I tend to use a wireless Xbox controller with receiver for the PC which I fing easier then getting out the g25 and mounting it, all other Battlefield type games I use the keyboard and mouse.
