XBOX controller problems

Hey lads, anyone have problems with the Xbox controller for PC on windows 10?. I am unable to use my controller on fifa, rocket league, lego games to name a few and its a pain. I have updated the driver but no luck.
Considering installing windows 7 as dual boot, but surely theres an easier option.

Is it only select games? I haven't tried this yet but remember having similar problems back in the day with certain games when using the 360 controller via the wireless adpater on Win7. I gave up after a while as it wasn't consistent.

Anyone having similar problems on game specific forums?

Yeah its only select games, but its really annoying. a lot of games are fine, but theres a number that just wont work with windows 10 and the controller. There's also another game I play on windows 10 that refuses to work properly, this war of mine. Im about to put windows 7 onto another drive as dual boot.

I would try in Win7 and see if there are similar problems. If there is, it is more likely to be an integration issue with the games themselves than a general driver problem.

cant you run it in win7 compatibility mode? I dotn have win10 so not sure if the option is there

The problems don't exist on windows 7 at all lads, all of the issues are only from when i changed to windows 10 unfortunately. I have tried compatibility mode also on every game with issues without luck.

With it not being consistent it doesnt sound like a wider issue. I would hit up one of the game specific forums and see if others are having the same issue. It could be engine compatibilty with the Win10 driver as changes have had to be made in other areas.

Just doesn't work properly holding09. Was gonna stick windows 7 back on last night but haven't done it yet

I bought one yesterday, its worked fine in every game ive tried so far, although when i try using it, it looks like someones trying to teach their granny to play pc games. Seems to take some getting used to

Windows 10 here, Xbox 360 controller works just as flawlessly as 7 for me.

That includes Rocket League from your list.

As well as Pcars, MGSV, Super Street Fighter 4 and a lot of other games I've played with Win 10

Seemed to have sorted rocket league finally.

Try uninstalling the driver.

My Xbox One controller worked instantly in Windows 10, no driver required at all.

Tried that and it was working for all of 5 minutes. Going back to windows 7 for the time being.

Sounds odd it's only specific games, though. It works fine for me in Assetto Corsa, Rocket League, F1 2015, Dirt Rally and Tomb Raider. :eek:
