I'm having a rather strange problem with my Xbox one.

I've had my Xbox one running wired connection for over a year with no problems, but I went to switch it on tonight and when it booted up it said it couldn't connect to Live. So I went into network settings and it said it wasn't connected and come up with a message about no DHCP.

So I went to my mobile to do the obvious and google for a solution, only to find that my phone was connected to wifi but with no internet access. I went up to my desktop PC (which is wired) and it said it was physically connected, but no internet access there either. I checked all other wired and wireless devices and they were all saying "connected - no internet access".

My network setup is Virgin media super hub 2 (modem mode) >> Asus AC56U >> switch >> wired devices

Basically I tried first by reseting both the router and modem, but that didn't allow internet access. The only way I was able to restore my internet to the rest of the network was to physically disconnect the Xbox from it. I've also tried a factory reset on the Xbox too.

As soon as I reconnect my Xbox it knocks everything offline. It's doing my nut in!

I've tried putting the superhub 2 back in router mode and removing the AC56U from the equation but the same still happens. I don't think it's the switch as all the other wired devices connected to it work fine as long as the xbox isn't connected to it.

Has anyone else had similar problems and if so how did you fix it?

Thanks!

Out of curiosity does the Xbox work when connected on its own? What about wireless? I'd go about turning DHCP off on the router and then on again, as well as forcing every device to release/renew in whatever way they do. I'm not sure how the Xbox does this, I assume by setting it to manual and then back to automatic.

Cheers for the suggestions Zefan/Samuel

I think it's all up and running again now (fingers crossed)

Spent an hour or so this morning messing around - process of elimination. I first put my super hub 2 in router mode, disconnected everything and only plugged my xbox in. All connected ok. Plugged another wired device in and everything still stayed connected. Enabled wireless and everything stayed connected!

So I then put the hub back in modem mode, connected the AC56U and did the same again, adding one device at a time. Basically everything except my TV is now connected back as it was and everything *touch wood* is still connected ok.

I can't plug the TV back in as it has now decided not to turn on again, so it could have been that causing some sort of conflict if it was on it way out. If it's not one thing it's another decided to conk out on me!
