Ring flashing red, a problem with the AV cable not picking up according to Microsoft.

Xbox is out of warrantee and there wanting £50 to fix it, is there nothing else that can be done?

you could wrap a towel around the xbox and try to force three red rings onto it..

But that would be dubious if you have morals ;)

"Hi There",

Have you tried "pushing" the AV cable in "firmly". I am "certain" there is a "red" light error if "the" AV cable is not fully "inserted". I just can't remember if it gives a flashing "red" light.

Also can you "borrow" another "AV" cable? Any Composite/"Component"/SCART/"VGA" one will do as they all "use" the same "AV" connection on the back of the "360".

At some point "someone" will recommend that you "wrap" your 360 in a "towel" to make it "RROD", because your "360" will still be "within" the 3 year warranty for that particular "fault".

"Edit:" In the "time" it took for me to "type" my "reply" 3 other people asked/answered the same "stuff". It is "possible" the "speech marks" are slowing me "down". But at this point in "time", that is purely "conjecture".

tried another cable and pushing it in firmly yep

OK I'm sure I'm missing something, but why all the speech marks?

Don't know it all seems rather pointless, I'll condense it down into one sentence.

If a different cable doesn't work, overheat the 360 until it starts giving a 3rrod then phone Microsoft for a free repair.

You go girl!

The DVD drive on my first one died and I complained to the retailer, who arranged a free repair with Microsoft on my behalf. However, it's been a good 6-7 months since it was first filed with all the nonexistant callbacks, never-arriving postal slips etc. Now I've got it printed but just need to find a bloomin' box to pack it in.

What happened to the days of the courier just turning up with a toughbox and taking it from you?
