Hi all, I'm looking for some advice for the Ethernet cables for 360's.

I do not own a console but I am an IT tech, I got asked by a colleague if I could put together a extra long cable and just wanting to know what type the original is, straight through, crossover or what ever, as he want it by the end of the day...

Any advice is welcome

Thanks

as per above standard cat5 straight through. no crossover.

Isnt there a max length you can have it though for us over the internet ? or am i thinking about the wrong cable

15m ? Might wanna check that out

100m is the longest spec.

ah, I'm beginning to think i was thinking about RJ11 rather than 45.

I'm pretty sure theres a cable that max is 15m :p

or maybe im just making numbers up now :)

ok thanks I'm have know idea why i think 15m is a max for something im sure it is though lol
:p

thanks guys, can always rely on this forum.. possibly USB might be 15m, although i could be wrong as i have 5m usbs with repeaters on them.

Also it may be worth noting that the ethernet port on the 360 is auto sensing, so you can use straight through or crossover, it doesn't really matter.

As mentioned already, cat5 is definitely a 100 metre limit.
