Xbox Fall Update - Netflix Question

Hey all,

Does anyone know if they have announced that UK will be able to use Netflix in the Xbox Fall Update?

No idea, though I hope they have fixed the random play on big playlists and ability to disable autoplay when putting a disc in the drive.

Netflix is a US only online rental company so it's highly unlikely that we will be getting the same service in the UK unless Microsoft is planning to pair up with a UK company for the same offering.

Can UK actually use any kind of Netflix service in the UK?

Tbh I don't see it happening. They would have to compete with love film or w/e it's called. Don't think that lets you download them either. Just rent through post.

Lovefilm do a PC download service (though I have never used it) so they could potentially be a UK partner.

Microsoft have stated that Netflix will not be operating in Europe.

Yup they said even in the 'what's new on Xbox' thingy on the dash it isn't coming to Europe.

But don't we have that already? Or are they just stopping giving it to us, I haven't heard anything about this :confused:

No. The current movie thing on xbox live where you can rent and download movies is from Microsoft, not Netflix.

Netflix will give the US 360 users access to 10,000+ streaming films, just like they already do for PC users.

Sorry I'm confusing you. I'm saying that in the Inside Xbox thing they are pimping the new Xbox experience, but categorically say that Netflix is not coming to Europe.

Netflix offer the streaming service from a subset of TV programmes/movies in their main library. No company in the UK offers this service so until they do it is unlikely we will get it. Lovefilm is really the only company in a position to do so.

No. Looking forward to it myself. A game which has live shows at certain times. Announcers. Prizes. Pretty cool imo.
