XBox Family Timer is per console and not per account?

This seems to make it a bit painful/useless?

So if you have a child and want to set their weekly usage to say 6hrs... If ANYONE else uses the console (eg: another account), it still eats away at the same time?

Infact, if you have two kids and you want to give each 5hrs... nope!

you just enter your passcode and reset the time when they switch over.

And when you play you just enter the passcode and turn it off. Its a bit of a pain, but its still a good system. Just needs a bit of parental involvement, which is a good thing.

The family controls aren't there to replace the parent after all.

If you could just apply it per account - Perfect.

If you have two kids, it's frankly useless.

Surely they're there to help and to serve a purpose? They don't do it very well...

If you want to introduce a system for Bill and Bob so they're both allowed 6hrs each per weak on the XBox... It basically won't work.

A single option on the Family Settings to say "Per Account"... Done!

Then why even have it? The timer is there as a tool - So you can say to little Johhny for example, you're allowed 6hrs of screen time a week. So he / you can easily keep track of how much screen time he is using.

If the XBox is only being used by just Johhny, all's fine...

Introduce a single other user to the XBox and it starts to fall apart. Little Johhny's dad logs on, plays something for 3hr, and suddenly when little Johhny logs on, half his weekly allowance appears to be gone.

A single option on the Family Timer settings to say the time is per account, instead of console wide, and it would be hugely more useful. Even more so if the time you set was for the account you were currently in, so you could even set it uniquely for each account. Which is what I expected.
