xbox gamepad adapter for pc

is there such a thing as an adapter i can buy that will allow me to use an xbox gamepad with my pc.

if so what is the best one to buy as i would want it to work well

i remember buying one to use with my ps1 gamepad a few years ago

Just get a spare usb cable, chop off the end, strip down a bit on the xbox snap off bit and splice on the usb cable. Its already USB just with a wrong shape conector, match the colours, its an easy solder and ding your done!

THIS is the guide i used. Works a treat.
 
thanks for the infor guys, a couple of options for me, im not sure about the soldering., i have a solder iron but its full size and not suited for fine work, nice to see there is an adapter for it though

Shouldn't really matter having a large tip on a soldering iron, it will be fine if you are just soldering simple wires together.

Probably easier and less messy to just go with the adaptor though :)
