Xbox gamepads explain please

I have Xbox one with game pass I want to gift to my son who lives elsewhere and purchase a series X .

Would he be able to access the free games with his account in the old Xbox ?

So with two consoles and two accounts you would need to set up the console you gift your son as your 'home' console. The new Series X at your place needs to be setup as your sons 'home' console. Then when you each log into each others home consoles you both have access to live/gamepass with your own xbox accounts.

Well this is how I have it setup with my daughter unless its since changed.
