It's 2:1 ratio (i.e. half) 1 year core/gold = 6 months ultimate.

These are the new prices using cdkeys (only 5 months on!):

Easiest (most expensive price)
Buy via console/ms site: 12x£14.99=£179.88.

Minimal faff (medium price)
cdkeys sell 3 months keys of gamepass ultimate for 29.99 so buying 4 of those and stacking would be £119.96 (monthly price £9.99).

Most faff (cheapest price)
12 months gold/core from cdkeys for £39.99
stack 2 codes for 24 months for £79.98
convert to 12 months of ultimate by paying 1 month £14.99

Total for 12 months ultimate 79.98+14.99=£94.97 (monthly price £7.91).

Will this work ok for an expired sub and can I get 3 years worth (3×39.99) of core and then convert to ultimate with 1 x £14.99 (using the last method)

Edit: am just able to redeem 3 of gp core, once converted to gpu (1.5 years worth) but can I keep adding a core after (3 more) codes eventually topping to 3 years of gpu or does that not work.

Either. You can redeem an ultimate code or through the upgrade on the xbox dashboard, it depends whether the £1 offer is still on the dashboard as to whether that's the cheapest way.

Can get 3 for £60 (or less if you have the means) and then upgrade to Ultimate

Seems to be the cheapest way to get a year of GPU

Is EA play when redeemed to xbox region locked or can it be activated using a VPN like you could with GP? I'm currently farming MS Rewards and getting just enough (in NZ) for GPU but would be good to be able to supplement with a 12 month ea play card to give 3 months of GPU for low price if my rewards dont quite cover the price.

Its only like 20 quid so I may give it a go when the rewards wont cover a month... suspect it will be in another 2 months as I've got June signed up and should get another months worth of points by the end of May... 40 bucks (~20 quid) isn't that much in hte grand scheme of living in NZ!

I was considering this to stream games to my Quest 3, but it seems like an absolute minefield! I'm not 100% convinced that I'll end up using it a lot, so a cheap sub is essential.
