Hello folks,
So I was looking to buy Civ VII and trying to find it as cheap as possible.
One particular retailer has this for £15.97

"XBOX Sid Meier’s Civilization VII - PC"
Gaming platform type: PC

Not sure how to read this... is this for Xbox? For PC?
And this is cheaper than I have seen it ever....

Microsoft's game launcher on PC is called Xbox. You can also purchase and unlock games through it too, similar to how you do with steam. So I initially read that it would be a code for the PC that would unlock in the Xbox app.

However, it doesn't seem available for pc via the Xbox app from what I can see, and while I can see it for the Xbox console, it's not a play anywhere title.

So I agree with xaldub. Avoid.

Assuming I've found the same listing, it's a massive national UK brand, I suspect they've made a mistake and you'd have little to lose by going for it (well, other than it supposedly being crap and probably not worth paying more than a fiver for anyway).

If it was some weird unknown website I'd say the opposite.

Thanks everyone, yes Im sorry I didn't give the name of the retailer but its not a dodgy one most definitely.
Ive ordered it.. but as you said loftie, if its not listed on PC game launcher, does it mean its then for Xbox only?
Doesnt make sense.

Not exactly related but if you find a game on Xbox website you can change the address from en-gb to is-is or hu-hu, for Iceland and Hungary to get better deals. No VPN required just buy as normal, but check currency conversion first

Just an update, went to pick up the game from the shop in question.
Its for PC/Steam and it was a case with download code. All now installed.
Ill take it for £15 considering it was £40 or £50 on release! Added bonus, bugs and any release issues should be cleared.
Im sure it will be even cheaper later as many have said, but... Im happy at this price, will give it a go later.

Thanks for your advice everyone.
