Xbox got returned....

i just got my xbox back from M$ after the RROD but the DVD drive makes this weird deep groon as it spins up. i instantly took forza out incase it scratched it. popped an old CD in and same thing but after about 45seconds it stops.


would this be the disc being unstable? perhaps the motor or a rubber band inside being twisted/loose.

ideas?




also: how do i get it to sign me in automatically now, turn on and just says 1 profile. and you have to then select it.

It's in your gamer profile options in the dash, probably same place where you can change your motto, gamer pic etc.

My friends does that and has done for about 18 months now. He's never had a problem though.

Mine does this and eventually it started getting DRE and completely stopped playing "The Darkness". If you think there's a problem I'd send it back ASAP as you only have 1 month warranty on faults other than RROD after its sent back.

Do not attempt to fix yourself.. Call them back up and have them fix.. After all it was working before you sent it in...

I'm happy I sent in my old out of warranty 360 cos the drive was shot, telling the Indian customer service that I had a RROD... 10days later a completely different replacement turns up, with a BenQ drive... so its a LOT quieter than my old pile of tosh !

win win win
