xbox HDD question

I installed cod 4 to my HDD so i wouldnt have to use the disk, anyway its comming up with an error saying the disk has to be reinstalled and the game must be deleted from the HDD .if i do this will i lose all my ranks and unlocks ?

I doubt it; the savegames and disk data are treated as separate data. Just make sure you only delete the massive, several gigabyte file as opposed to the smaller file that contains your savegame.

thanks for that , i think i need to upgrade to a bigger HDD as ive only got 2gb left on the standard 20gb
