Hi,

Upon pressing the eject button on the xbox to swap a game over, the unit is not totally stopping the disk spinning before it is ejected, as a consequence a number of my games now a have perfect circle engraved type scratch all the way round the disk and come up as "disk unreadable" at certain points in games.

I bought the console & games from the well know high street shop (we still not allowed to talk competitors right?) and just wondered if any of you guys know where I stand before I go in there. According to the sticky at the top I should be entitled to a straight swap ? As i don't really want it sent off for repair etc etc etc.

It's under 12 months old and I have the reciepts.

Thanks

I had exactly the same problem as you with my first 360 about 6 months ago.

I purchased from a big high street shop as well, gave them a ring, explained the situation and they said to bring back the barebones console and the receipt and they would swap it over for a brand new one, which they did about 30 mins later.

I'm pretty much 100% sure if its under 12 months old and you have a genuine problem with your console that isn't your fault then you can just go in and swap it. When my 360 3RROD I just took it into the shop with my receipt, they tested it and when it froze I got it swapped for a new console. I was also worried about losing saved games but the guys at the shop just said they would give me my old HD and if it there was a problem with the HD then just bring it back and get a new one.

They did the same for me when my first one went **** up.
Shame the replacement whent **** up outside of the 12 months warranty.
It's currently on it's way back from repair.

I'm happy so far with my replacement. Its got HDMI (which my old one didn't) and it more quiet then my previous console. Also the HD is A O K!

As long as it's within its warrenty period then you should have no problems just getting it swapped.

Maybe best ringing them first though so you don't have a wasted journey.
