ok so the bridge is fine and the xbox connects to live, but then laptop says it has no internet and cant connect itself. but the xbox stays fine :-S

anyone had this before or know a solution?

Have you just got a plain network bridge? (wireless and wired connection bridged) if so try running cmd then typing ipconfig /all to see what ip address, default gateway and primary dns server your laptops getting. It might be that one of these is wrong causing your laptop not to connect (all 3 are pretty vital for net access)

if they are wrong then you could try releasing and renewing them (assuming your laptops set to automatically obtain an IP) by typing ipconfig /release, then when its done type ipconfig /renew

thats a new one on me.?

is it not possable to copy and paste from CMD damn annoying.

now that i am on the net on this and started the xbox back up it has problem connecting to live yet in the test says there is internet... strange strange

EDIT: sorry it is a standard bridge as am aware; crossover (Cat5e) cable between lappy and box... and lappy is wireless, highlighted both connections and right clicked to bridge.

I think thats a vista UAC message, you'll need to either log on as the local admin account or go to start - all programs - accessories - system tools - right click on CMD and run as administrator (i think thats the location of it lol)

ok seems to have fixed itself i deleted the bridge and reonnected the box and bridged again... all is good.
i also disabled IvP6 if this helps..?

thanks

ipv6 will be unused on most networks so unless you know your using it, should be fine to disable :)

Glad you got it sorted anyway
