Xbox live account suspended due to problems with payment!?

Hi guys, just tried to log on to xbox live to find out that my account has been suspended due to a problem with my payment. It asks me to go to the account management section to update but every time i do it kicks me off live.

The only thing that i can think of is that my 12 month subscription has run out and they have tried to bill me again, the only problem being that i don't actually own a credit card anymore.

What can i do??
 
I think you have to phone them, sure I've seen others with the same prob, they auto renew on your old credit-card
 
that's bull!! So what they don't give you any warning that the account is about to expire, just automatically assume that you want to continue!

Just been onto the xbox.com site which has then directed me onto microsoft's billing page and now i owe them 39.99!!!! How am i supposed to pay this when i don't own a credit card and that is all they take? **** this!

No they suspend you when they find out you have incorrect credit card details on your account, I think you'll find it's part of the T&C that you keep up-to-date information. You have to either update or delete your credit card details before renewal (obviously only if you initially paid by credit card)

Calm down. It's exactly the same as a mobile phone contract. They will continue to take payment until you tell them you no longer want their service.
 
that's what i was thinking.

Anyway just called them, i don't owe them money and i am now back to silver and the suspension has been lifted. Just seems a bit OTT to me
 
I think they suspend the account because it is tantumount to fraud, if you use a Live 12month Gold Card you don't have this hassel, and when you sub expires it goes down to silver.
 
I'm amazed Microsoft actually stopped taking his money regardless. My credit card expired and they kept charging it anyway, reminding me every month via email too. That was nice of them. :(

I've decided to go prepaid too as I think it's the only way to keep M$ under control. If they trying charging my old credit card again once this 3 month period ends, there will be some 'to the point' phone calls to customer services.
 
My card expired and they tried to bill me again, so they just banned my account. This was back in the days of the original Xbox.

They won't unlock it or even delete it, so I can't even make a new account with the name "Zefan". Total pile of ****.

on live for original xbox, they billed me for about 3 years on an expired credit card, well was my parents but still lol.
