Xbox Live account suspended

I got myself a new Xbox 360 the other week and the other day I couldnt sign in with my Gamer Tag. I got a message telling me my account was suspended due to my payment option being declined. The credit card I used was cancelled a while back before the renewal and I have not got another so I was now without any membership whatsoever.

I couldnt even save any progress on my games.

I have just got off the phone to support and the suspension has been lifted and I am now on Silver membership. I am going to pop into town later to buy a subscription card.

Very happy with the support I have got and the bloke on the phone was polite and very helpfull. I think he was Dutch, deffo sounded like McLaren during THAT interview

Online gaming here we come. Any suggestions on a new (or old) game for me to play? I have a few quid burning a hole in my pocket.

I don't see why they can't just automatically put you on silver though, why is it necessary to suspend the account?

I belive it was due to my card declining and having the £39.99 outstanding balance. Once McLaren cleared the outstanding balance (and deleted the credit card from the account) for me I had the option to go Silver or Gold when I signed in on the Xbox.

I went Silver. Only until later when I get back from town.

You'd be best off buying a code online, as Zensuji said above. I used CheapXboxLiveCodes last year and they were very good. You get sent a scanned image of your code card within a few hours of placing the order. No need to go into town and it is way cheaper than buying a code from a retail store.

Also, what type of online game are you looking for? I'd definitely recommend Battlefield Bad Company 2 if you're into online shooters, as that is just amazing right now, and there is a great bunch of lads from here that regularly play in squads. If you're after another type of online game, let us know what you're looking for and we'll suggest some for you

Well I sold loads of games not so long ago. One of them being Cod mw2, great game and thought about getting it again. When I was in town last week after getting my new 360 I got PGR4 and GTA IV both cheap. I love racing game and really like GTA, its all good fun.

I was actually looking at BF:BC2 online a bit ago to see what its all about, seems good.

I will have a look at that website you posted now.

EDIT: Scrap that site, I dont have Paypal and never will. They dont take cards yet.

Never mind online gaming, buy Just Cause 2. Awesome fun hovering over settlements in a gun ship mowing down soldiers and destroying buildings. If you do get MW2 we might be able to finish Spec Ops finally...

if you like the racing games, then Forza3 is going at around the £15 - £17 mark on some online sites... probably the best racer on the xbox just now.
