Xbox Live Arcade

Wow.

Bankshot Billards is widely regarded as the worst Arcade game on Live! and Burnout is widely regarded as awesome! Each to their own I guess.. now into the corner with you!
*points*

Each to their own i guess, I downloaded every single arcade game, most were complete tosh. the only enjoyable and complete games i actually enjoyed playing were Bankshot Billards and geomitry wars.

Dont get me started on burnout, really wanted to like it. but I just found there to be no skill to it what so ever. i just held down the excelerator, smashed into everything, scenery included and still got a great score. pointless. and it doesnt look much different to the xbox versions. but like i said, each to their own.

i bought burnout on the hype from this forum and dont see many people playing it now and ive barely touched it, really tempted to trade this in now and get something else.

I'm another one that couldn't stand burnout. There's absolutely no skill involved in it imo. Traffic comes towards you faster than superman can react and you just end up bashing into everything in a pointless fashion. I never lived the originals either. Yawnfest.

No skill involved? I beg to differ. Try not crashing into everything and you might have more fun ;)

 Bunout rocks!! Fastest game I have ever played!

Burnout is excellent - and the reason you think there's no skill involved is because you never got to the later levels... you were doing the 'easy' levels ;) The hints in the names :D The later levels are dead hard to get perfect in, but not impossible. The real game is online anyway - chasing after your revenge rivals and stuff - especially with the rival tracking. CocoPops == Arch Nemesis :D

/on-topic.

The only arcade game I have bought is Marble Blast Ultra, which is well worth it at £6.50. I tried the demo of the Billiards thing, and it was alright, but not worth paying for in my opinion. I do think we'll be seeing a lot more old coin-op games appearing on Arcade - and some will be rip off prices, and some will be must haves. But I guess you just buy what you like - a range and variety never hurt anyone.

Personally I think outpost kaloki offer the most for a paid live game. Its a good mix of difficulties and an absorbing way to spend half hour at a time.

According to MS the reason that they use points is so that they don't have to worry about currency conversions and displaying them on Live.

I think its a psychological thing, when you 'spend' points it doesn't seem like your spending money. Similar to the reason casinos use chips instead of coins.

I guess I am the only one that calculated out what 1 point was worth and how much a game would cost in real money before buying points then?

Work on £6.50 for 800 points = most games.
£9.75 for 1200 points.

Points, Euros, Credits, pangalatic gargle blasters - all converts to pounds and pence in my head before I spend.
