Xbox Live Bother

Hi,

Just got a 360 and online everything is lagging like mad on TD:U. Im running with internet connection sharing through my PC then into a router. Will it be the ICS causing lag, or possibly soemthing else? Worth investing in a switch to avoid using ICS?

well i run my live the same way and never had a problem with it it could just be tdu.

anything running on your PC?

I mean if your PC is busy or you are downloading anything you are going to effect your connection speed.

just throwing ideas in air as i dont know a lot bout pc's but could the firewall be interfering?

Only firewall running is the one on the router. None on the PC.

Hold on.. your internet comes in, into your router? then to your PC right? then you use ICS on the PC to share it to your xbox? Does your router only have 1 ethernet port?

If your PC internet speed is fine and ICS is all working still, which it is because you can use your xbox on the net then its TDU servers by the sound of things. Have you tried other games?

as said in first post might be tdu never plalyed game so dont know *** it plays like gow, rb6lv ,saints row, ns u and fifa 07 all play well .

Indeed, but i am problem solving. Im not offering a diagnosis, i want prognosis.

360 -> PC(internet connection sharing) -> Router -> Internet

Gonna take it downstairs and try it connected stright through the router.

No problemo, i know it was a valid point, thats why i just restated it.

Then, if the internet is running slow on your PC it will be on the 360.. have you tried other games? download speed tests? I highly doubt it is ICS thats doing it.

All sorted. Tried it direct into the router and its perfect, been on since my last post on TD:U with it smooth ars a babies backside.

Looks liek i need to invest in a switch.
