Ok well ive got my xbox 360 and im trying to connect to xbox live.

Now currently i have a router, which is connected to a hub, which has all the pc's connected to it (the hub). My motherboard has 2 x lan ports, (Asus A8N SLI Deluxe). I was hoping to connect the pc to the hub using one ethernet port and use the other to connect to the xbox 360 in the hope the xbox 360 can share the connection from my pc.

Im having some problems, as my xbox360 cant seem to connect.

On my pc, with the lan port that is connected to the router via the hub, i am using these settings:

IP: 10.0.0.1
Subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
GateWay: 10.0.0.138 (My router's ip)
Primary DNS: 10.0.0.138

This allows my pc to connect to the internet fine. i also use those settings but with different ips eg 10.0.0.4 for 2 other pc's and they also work fine. Now what settings do i need to have for the 2nd lan port that goes to the xbox 360. Ive tried using the above settings but with a different ip and setting it the same on my 360 no luck. Tried doing autodetect settings, still doesnt work. Any ideas what im doing wrong?

And before you ask, yes my pc has been on the whole time ive tried to connect.

ah il try that soon

Got another problem, ive got the premium xbox so i should have 1 month free gold live membership. how does this work, i have a leaflet but all that tells me is to create an account. I tried creating an account, but it wants me eventually to either enter pre paid code, or buy 1 month, 3 months or 12 months worth of it.

If you setup for a silver account, then once that's activated it should inform you that you are elligible for a free gold member for a month and if you want it, to confirm. Can't get really simpler than that TBH.
