Dunno about you lot, but I feel naked booting up the 360 and seeing it not hooked upto live, as well as not seeing friends coming on/off Live...

Noooo. I can't play the full version of Geometry Wars without live! It only lets me play the trail. 4 minutes is not enough :mad:

its the second or third.

There was deffo one last year to upgrade XBL in preperation for the 360.

IMO There are no redundancy servers. If a site goes down then MS will have capacity in other sites to shoulder the burden temporarily, rather than have backup sites (that are doing nothing but wait for the primary sites to follover). This would not allow for planned maintance windows without an outage (such as we are experiencing).

So they have only one option and I guess seeing as how little we are paying for the service it is the only one really available.

Yep its defo been down all day like this before. I started a thread on it as I thought my network was playing up.

im the same. and also the low(?) risk of not getting any of your gained achievements points unlocked has kept me off tonight. i even had a rare good session planned for this evening as well. :rolleyes:

Indeed it is back up, however the only new thing i can notice so far is the new Artist of the Month video on the marketplace. And as i'm downloading i can confirm background downloading has NOT been added. Nothing new showing up apart from this video on Marketplace and no E3 blade.

I think it was infrastructure changes they were carrying out as Major Nelson had already stated that it WASN'T a dashboard update.
