Xbox Live Free......

Not unless they get a drastic drop in console sales to the PS3, or people stop paying for the service en mass (more than 50%).

I can't see it happening currently, the console is still selling well.

This question has been asked many times, usually turns in to a flame war between people wanting it for free and people appreciating it as a quality service and pay the annual charge. Not £40 though, I thought everyone knew you could get it for £28.

It's doing too well for this to happenz.

Would have to agree, why would M$ ever give us Xbox live for nothing when millions of people are currently paying for it, with all the money they lost through RROD they need all the $ they can get :D
Seriously tho Xbox live is a good service & has been a pay for use service since the beginning so why would they give it away. Yes I know they do on the PC but thats a different market.

If it did go free and ended up anything like PSN I'd pretty much give up. You get what you pay for rings oh so true in this respect.

PSN works fine for me.....connect to online games and download demos, what else do you need? Oh right yes, paying for Live so that you can use P2P, fantastic!

I dont understand how people complaine about the £40 cost of live...And as some one said before you get what you pay for, if you dont like it dont pay for it. But my experience with both XLB and PSN imo its obvisous which one costs and what dosent........

But thats my opinion, and in answer to the question, i dont think live will ever be free.

I'd pay for live purely because most people have headsets, PSN feels like you are playing against bots.

So many people on PSN have TERRIBLE headsets too, the few people I've encountered with them that is...

I'm glad it's not free to be honest. Reduces the number of idiots online, and ensures a good whack of cash is spent on developing and improving it. Onling gaming on the 360 wouldn't be as good if it was free.

I think the figures don't lie, plenty of people think it's worth the money so MS aren't going to give that revenue up.
