So the US gets XBox live Game Room tomorrow, I am not sure if we get it also, or if we get it later. From what I understand on the Major Nelson podcast, Gameroom is your own private arcadethe populated with lots of cabinets and you will get a load of free tokens to go and try them. After that you will need to purchase each game that you want.

You will be able to visit your XBOX friends arcades, and you will get one free play on their machines, after that you need to buy tokens. The more people visit your arcade, the more unlocks and points you get, so ther is an incentive to trick out your arcade.

There will be avatars wandering round also. If you and a friend have got the same machine, pacman for example, and he gets a higher score than you, it will be posted in your arcade on a huge red scoreboard, to taunt you.

I think there will be 20 games, in their original cabinets (which you can move around) at launch. There will also be the option buy 'other stuff' to decorate and customize your environment.

Hoperfully we will see the likes of Williams Defender, Pacman, Frogger, Gorf, Galaxians, Battlezone, Outrun, Goldenaxe, Ikari Warriors, Space Invaders, R-Type and many more of thosemachines that I wasted my childhood and pocket money on.

Oh I beleive that there will also be a rewind feature, so if you FUBAR it, you can take a mulligan and try again without repeating from the begining.

Its a nice idea but not one I think I will be using. All the old nostagia XBLA games I bought have bored me after 1 play so I'm not fussed about this. I prefer the old games remastered.

1MSP per play might have been a good feature but I bet the price per play is much higher than that.

If you buy a game (in the US a game will cost $3) you dont have to pay to play, you only pay in other peoples arcades

Yeah I know, what I'm saying is I'd prefer a feature to pay 1 msp per go because I'd likely only play a handfull of times on each one.

I don't really get this, its just the XBLA Arcade with avatars. As Danny says, most titles you play a handful of times and then gather virtual dust. Can't really see my buying any more.

You can also buy this on PC for the same prices and it has cross platform features apparently! You get the choice of buying each arcade game for 360, PC or both which means you can share with your 360 owning friends or vice versa with PC & invite to your game room. The cost for 360 or PC only is 240 MSP or 400MSP per arcade game to play on both platforms. There are apparently planned 1000 arcade titles in the next 3 years with several due to be released each week. All games also have a free trial so the first time you try a game for free then decide if you want to buy it. Achievements are 56@ 1000GS in total as its not linked to the actual arcade games but the game room & how many medals you earn in total.

Tomorrow they launch with 30 arcade games.

This, I like the idea....but honestly all those games are just crap now imo.

Why are they crap? I love playing many of those old games, as do many other people. You only have to look at the MAME community to see how much interest there is.

If you want to talk about crap games, go and look at how much 'dead wood' fills the shelves of GAME.

I didn't say they were crap to everyone, but they're crap to me. Gaming has come on a long way in every area since then.

I couldn't see it on the console itself, so added it through the Marketplace website and am downloading it now :)

(just a heads up)

Edit - working well...not :/

Loading bar just stops at around 1/4. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling and stops at the same place every time. Also you have to download a couple of packs first which seems daft.

I'll wait till it comes up Properly on the console then download it, Servers will be Smashed like a fresh pasty.

It's on the dashboard now, but same thing still happens to me, 1/4 loading bar then stops :/

I can only assume it's the server, but it doesn't look good.

I used to play Armour Battle and Astro Smash on our old Intellivision. Loved it. Although I'm learning that nostalgia is a powerful thing. Many games with a few exceptions just don't stand up now days. Probably still give them a bash though.
