Hiy guys,

I am about to buy the Xbox Live Gold Family Pack for 4 members.

It is £69.99 in total so £17.50 each for an Xbox Live Gold 13 month subscription.

If you are interested in being one of the 3 other members then let me know and we can get the ball rolling.

Thanks,

Shep.

Although i have just read this?

"The only thing is they must be all on the same console to start. So pick a 'Master' console then transfer all family accounts to that console; apply the memberships, etc. then transfer back to whatever console you wish.
"
"We just heard from Microsoft that you could split these four accounts across consoles, so long as they were all in the same country. To do so, first the second, third and fourth accounts need to be added to the same console as the primary account holder. After they are activated onto the Family Pack, they can recover that account onto a different console. Source: Microsoft"

Both from Xbox forums.

Not really keen on giving my account details over for someone else to DL my profile .... :(

hmmm to be honest its viable but its about a matter of trust and setting up a temporary password. I fully understand if trust is an issue with people. Just testing the water to see if 13months can be had for £17.50

Yeah it does seem a friggin good idea, Might still be up for it for "testing" Could always get my GF an account set up for that cheap

Let us know what you find out.

I'd be up for doing this, not like setting up a temp password is going to be difficult and your trust seems okay (if a little low). Count me in for one... email in trust.

Sounds dodgy. Because the person who paid for it originally might well get hit with a full price charge for all 4 accounts a year later.

It's easy enough to call and cancel Renewal. Just pay for this and then call the same day and tell them to turn repeat payments off.
Well when I say easy - it can be a pain but it does get done in a phonecall.

I'd say whoever had the highest trust rating / longer time as member or such like to be the one who did it (the buying and organising accounts) - IF they wanted to - someone like Kreeeee ;). Although it is the OP's idea too so wouldn't want him to feel like it was 'stolen' plus this deal comes with 800 ms points so we'd all get 200 points each too as you can share them across the accounts too.

I don't think you can gift MS points.

I'd happily let the person running the show keep them as a "ta very much" for the effort.

Well I vote for you to run the show if you're up for it. Think we have enough people in here now to get it done.

Ok, I'll do it this Saturday.

I'll need peoples contact details and payment up front. The OP gets first dibs so as long as he replies by Saturday it will be him and the next 2 to post they want in (I'm not going to chase people who posted already, no guarantee that they will reply in a decent time frame).

If the OP is not interested any more, then the next 3 people will get in.

I will be doing a full read-up on the terms of this offer, as I want to make sure:

A) None of you can buy stuff using my card
B) You all retain full control over your accounts
C) What happens with excess time on the accounts (it looks like on the main account it subtracts from the cost of the offer, and on sub accounts it gets added to the Live time)

I really don't think this will work - can't see MS allowing groups of mates to share the cost of a "family" membership.

My guess is that there will be restrictions on other accounts than the main account.

Q: Could a group of friends or roommates share an Xbox LIVE Gold Family Pack?

A: The Xbox LIVE Gold Family Pack is really designed for families. Only the primary account holder may make purchases against their own billing account, which is designed to help families better manage their entertainment budget. The primary account holder will also receive Activity Monitoring reports, and have the ability to access online Family Settings for other members in the Family Pack. As a result, the Xbox LIVE Gold Family Pack may not work well for groups of friends or roommates.

^^ Looks like that is the only drawback.:)
