Hello all - I have the original xbox and have signed up to XBL again to play Halo 2/BF2 etc.

I crushed my old xbox live headset, but on remembering its build quality it was absolutely rubbish.

Are there any third party headsets out there for the Original Xbox which have better build quality, or can you use the 360 headset with the original xbox?

AFAIK you can not use the 360 headset.

Look out for the plantronics Halo 2 headset, it is easily the best original xbox headset.

BTW how badly did you break your headset. I have glued one back together and taped one back together. The taped one was actually more compfortable than before I broke it. (on both occations I snapped the bit that clips the mic/speaker to the headrest)

its well and truly mashed ;) ill look around the usual suspects for that headset then, on first glance that looks quite weedy aswell tho. I remember seeing a nice big chunky 360 headset, I wish they did one like that for the normal xbox.
Do you know if the plantronics one comes with the actual connector that
goes into the joypad?

My original xbox headset i only have the earpiece and mike, no band. I used a sophisticated technique with 2 elastic bands to wrap it around my ear :D

You definately cant use the 360 headset with xbox.

I drilled holes through both parts of mine that broke and tied them together with one of those garden tie things (don't know proper name) and it hasn't come off since.
