Hi All,

I seem to be having problems with Xbox live over the past couple of days. I have been playing online with EA FIFA World Cup game. I have not been able to finish a single match in the past couple of days without the game firstly disconnecting from EA Servers and then Xbox live disconnecting.

If I run a connection test immediately, the XBL part of the test fails. If I wait 2 minutes, I can connect back to XBL just fine. My ADSL router remains synched at all times during the incident and I can use the Internet fine on my PC.

Has anybody else come across this strange behaviour?

not sure about the world cup game, but halo 3 lately has disconnected for me, and if i play FFXIII i get disconnected all the time, which is a pain if people are sending me messages or im in middle of game.

im thinking its just xbox live at the moment.

is your NAT open or strict by the way?

Hi toon_mad, thanks for replying.

I have tried just putting the Xbox in the DMZ of router so that the NAT wouldn't be strict. No joy I am afraid.

I have tried Xbox Live with any other games. The odd thing is disconnects always happen in the second half. If I just leave the Xbox idle, it stays connected.

what i do know though is sometimes i cannot join people on halo 3, my nat is open but if the people i try to connect to are on a moderate or strict nat i cannot join them. this is also the reason i get booted out of some halo 3 matchmaking games.

i wouldnt know what else to suggest really other than asking on the EA board maybe.

maybe the other player is scared of losing and is booting you off xbox live ;)

lol, you could be right. I generally play as Northern Ireland and I have started beating teams like Spain and Argentina online. They must feel pretty humiliated.

I am away for the next day or so but when I get back, I will try a different router and see if that helps.

ah, the good thing about online football games, doesnt matter how crap england are, you can put things right on fifa :p

more often or not i find myself playing newcastle on fifa and destroying teams just to take the real life pains away :D
