Xbox Live NAT = Strict

I have been reading through guides all day on possible ways to fix it but no luck yet.

I managed to get internet sharing working using my macbook and I can use the Live market place and even play online sometimes but its very hit and miss.

I have BE* Broadband and a Bebox. My 360 is connected to my MacBook using Internet sharing. I have tried turning all my firewalls off and forwarding the ports suggested on xbox.com but it still shows my NAT as being strict.

Is it going to be possible to get it to moderate of open? I am considering buying the wireless adapter but don't want to spend the money if it's not going to make a difference.

Do you have the 360 set with a static IP?

I can never get that to work, even though a lot of guides say that is the first thing to do. Always comes back as being Strict, so I have to assign the 360 an IP via it's MAC address on the router to make sure it always gets the same one (but the console still thinks it's dynamic).

I have my 360 connected straight to my bebox and i get open without port forwarding or any of that stuff.

Just found a cable long enough to reach the Bebox and it's Open, I take it everything will be fine if I get the wireless adapter then?

Should be fine connected directly to the BeBox.

ICS is simply unholy and there is NO good reason to be using it in this day and age.

Will work perfectly connected to the Be box, I had my Xbox connected to my PC via Ethernet my mobo had a dual Ethernet connections so I linked my Xbox this way and I found no matter what settings I used my NAT was always strict, connected directly to my Be box and it was open

Don’t use Be for my Xbox anymore now have VM due to the better pings and speed.

I'm using it to post atm. I have no other choice though as the Gf is working in Birmingham over summer and her line in halls is tied to her MAC address so we have to use ICS if we want other devices/simultaneous devices to access the net.

I agree though, it sucks and keeps deciding to disable itself.

i got mine from strict to moderate after changing everything possible on my DrayTek 2600Plus.

its a tad annoying as if i quick match or custom match on forza2 just says game in progress or no longer available when it is still there and not started.
