Xbox Live on Pipex

Last week Xbox Live started not signing in during the evening. It works fine sometimes then just won't log in at all. I was just on now and at exactly 6.30 it disconnected me and wouldn't log in. I have pipex broadband (was toucan but got bought out) and have noticed the connection quality slowly deteriorate since the take over. Is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions on how to get it to work?

I did an Xbox Live connection test about 100 times and every time I'm connected to the router and the internet but not xbox live. It just doesn't automatically sign in when I turn on the console then when I try and manually sign in the whole system freezes and I have to power off and on.

You sure it's the internet that's the problem?

I'm pretty sure Pipex is your problem!
My isp is Nildram, which used to be part of Pipex, all bought out by Talk Talk

Recently they introduced some stealthy traffic shaping in the evenings, from 6:30pm until around 11pm. My 1 meg broadband is hardly fast at the best of times, I used to be able to play online games and stream from iPlayer etc, but with the new traffic shaping iPlayer stops and starts every 3 seconds

I also have problems with other streaming services, torrents etc. If you have no problems with Live, outside of these hours, then i'd change isp asap!
I'm due to be connected to Plusnet Pro in the next few days, no traffic shaping so I can make the most of my slow mo broadband
