Xbox Live on the fritz?

Just turned my 360 on, and it wouldn't log in to my account on Live.

After a bit of fiffing and faffing about, it eventually pops up with a message telling me there's an error with my subscription billing method, and I need to review my account settings, by clicking the button it presents me. So I click on it, the account management page pops up, then disappears and takes me back to the Live blade on the dash... rather strange.

So seeing as I can't figure out what's going on through my 360, I went on the Live site. And my membership is fine, renewal in March 2009...

So I ask you, is Live broken?

Same here for the past few days now but it does log in after 5 minutes or so.

Might be an idea to leave in here what was changed / how it was sorted. It will help people who also have had the same problems.

Fair point.

The card it was originally registered on (something like 4 years ago) expired.

The billing site wanted me to transfer it to a new card, but pay an extra 39.99 for the joy of doing so. Given that I'd paid them in March for 12 months anyway, I wasn't going to be paying them again two months later.

So I got on the phone, and the bloke changed my account card details, and reactivated it, without me paying a thing.

Shouldn't really happen to anyone else, I just forgot to update my account when my card expired

No quite a few do that and then come on shouting and screaming how crap Microsoft are :rolleyes:

Not saying you were doing that though, my hat goes off to you, you handle it properly, ask if anyone has a prob, then phone support and resolve. Well done

Hahah, yeah, when I first read that it was gonna take £39.99 online, my initial thought was something along the line of "money grubbing *****!"

But then I thought I'd call 'em.
