Plus if you tend to beat someone online like in a race in PGR 3, you'd be surprised how many people leave bad comments because they are unsporting but try and switch it onto you. That happened a lot with me on PGR 2. I'd play for the day and end up getting banned for 24 hours cause of everyone leaving bad comments etc.. (if you recieved enough bad comments you got a 24 hour ban) even though i never trash talked, complained or anything, i was just on to have a chat and have fun, simply because i was beating them all the time.

Plus it didnt help that i was on my second live account (forgot my first account details after i cancelled) so when i was a Rank 1 on my new account in PGR 2, i was technically a Rank 35, so Rank 60 players were sure as hell ****** off when a rank 1 'newbie' was beating them in races :D

I always took that as a compliment though as it showed that i am better than them, both on the track and in real life.
 
Yep, ignore. The system is worthless.

Whilst it's a decent enough idea in theory, the problem lies in the fact that there is a certain amount of trust assumed when playing people you don't know and will never meet. Unfortunately there will always be a high number of people who abuse the system by either cheating or giving bad rep just beacuse you beat them at something.

My stats for the little that they are worth:

47% Preferred or did not submit a review

52% Avoided (the other 1% were presumably abducted by aliens :confused: )

Trash talk 5%
Language 11%
Disruptive 0%
Agressive 5%
Unsporting 41%
Quit Early 3%

The really annoying thing is, that it says "x% preffered or did not rate you" but the did not rate you bit doesnt work as I think it should, everytime you play against or with someone it and they dont negative rep you, you should get a positive.

Im currently 70% preferred, 30% avoided. Means jack all but I still negative rep anyone who is an idiot.
 
Rep system is retarded, ive seen people create games ive joined then cancel the game and award negative rep.

Mainly the reason i rarely play on live, too many retarded squeaky kiddies running around.
 
The brats that abuse the system are one of the reasons why i never play online either, i used to love playing Halo 2 online but i soon stopped because of all thekids moaning and whining online when someone killed them or beat them etc.. Thats why i only ever play online when its with friends i know.
 
I had someone send me a message saying that if I leave them good rep they'll do the same back. Didn't even know the bloke in question so just ignored them. Plus I have no idea how to leave rep anyway :D
 
I've got 1 trash talk on me, even though I hardly ever actually have my headset turned on.

Crappy system, could have been so much better.
 
Yeah, the rep system is crap, the percentages don't add up, like you say the "or have not rated you" statement is incorrect and people abuse it left right and centre.

My ratings are something like 75% for 24% against. I don't know when you start losing stars (if you do at all) or if it ever makes a difference. I've never seen anyone go below five stars (once you get it) or seen anyone kicked out of a game for having less etc. I don't know when the bans kick in, but I shouldn't think you need to be too worried about them unless you deserve it ;)
