Just had an email from MS about this, seems they're starting to reward LIVE customers who renew their LIVE sub, buy MS points and various items from the Marketplace by giving them MS points back to spend freely on things

I've just signed up myself but my "sign up" is still being processed. I wonder if they'll reward you for anything you do from this point or whether they'll look back on what you've bought and reward accordingly?

They should look back at least a year or 2 imo.

i dont think it will look at previous purchases, can i check is this the rewards scheme that allows me to trade achievement points to ms points or something?
also i bet you'll be required to renew live and buy ms points via ms direct to gain rewards....

The impression I get is that you literally just get MS points depending on what you've bought or redeemed on your gamertag?

I wish there was a bit more info on whether its for stuff bought directly through MS or whether its for redeemed codes too or what. Guess we'll have to wait and see

I would be ******* shocked if they ever do that. The amount of hacking and cheating for gamerscore is too high.

My account is finally active. no backdating of anything. Still a little unsure as to which kind of Live renewals you will be rewarded for....but I've just taken the short survey to get 20 points

Guess we will have to wait a bit longer and see if this is going to be any good or not

Whats to be unsure of, when I renewed it had a list which told you what you would get and how much for each item.

Yep they are backdating family gold deals but that's it. To be fair why would they back date on anything else. No one else does on anything.

lol it was just wishful thinking on my part as I literally just renewed my Live sub a few weeks ago annoyingly!
