Xbox Live Selling question...

Hi folks,

If I delete my gamertag from the XBOX360 hard drive, but keep things like my downloaded demos and purchased games (worms I bought full version).

1) If the new owner makes a new name, do they get to use my remaining subscription?

2) Do they get to use the games I downloaded?

No, they both tie in with your gamertag.

Downloaded Vids + Trials will, but saves and arcade games etc.. will not

So I might as well just format the drive then if Im selling yea?

They will be able to use any purchased Arcade games. They will lose them if they format the hard disk or delete them, though.

Purchased games link to your online profile though, so a new gamertag wouldnt get the full version

They will. Once a profile has bought the game, it becomes available to all users of that console. If you delete the game or wipe the drive, you need that profile that bought the game to download it again.

You can copy games to a mate's console, too but you will need to recover your gamertag in order to play it.

hmm when I was prepping my to sell, I didnt notice any format option no matter how hard i search :confused:

Surely only offline profiles on that console?

Otherwise you could buy 1 copy of a game between a few of you?

Not sure about multiple consoles.

But I have two gamertags, both of which are Xbox Live Gold and both can play the full games that the other tag has bought on the same console.

When you go to the memory settings, think you press x on the hard drive and you can re-name it and format
