Hello all,

Just got my XBox home and plugged in, going through the XBox Live sign up, put in my Windows ID i already have, but now its asking me for payment.

I should get 1 month free with my XBox and leaflet inide says so, it says to select new account, does this mean i have to create a new Windows ID? Surely i can use my old one.

No validation code is in Livebox manual or on leaflet in box.

Help....?
 
I'm pretty sure you just select the free silver membership and then the next page will tell you that you've got a month free Gold!

That's what happened to me anyway :D
 
When you select your subscription, select silver.

after you do that it'll tell you that you are eligible for a months free gold.
 
Both me and my brother have created XBL accounts in the last week or so, mine isn't even a brand new console either...
As already said just select silver, then on the next screen it'll say you qualify for a 1 month free of Gold.
Just as a bit more info I used my existing Windows ID, my bro made a new one.
 
Do you only have to pay for Gold membership - is Silver free? I have a 360 but don't really want to pay for Live, but if silver is free then I might as well connect it up?

Yes, Silver is free.
 
Just looking at the MS site, am I wrong or do you need gold to play games online? A bit pointless running ethernet cables downstairs just for some demo downloads and a gamertag :p
