Hi,

I seem to recall that in the past SOME FREE content was only available to Gold members for a week or so.

www.majornelson.com said:
Just a reminder that if you have a Silver account, you won’t have access to free content on the the Marketplace (like demos) when they are first posted. That content will be available to Gold level exclusively for one week, after which Silver members will have access to the free content.

The Fall update has a special message (above) to reflect this as well. If you have a Silver account and you see a piece of content that has a red circle with a slash through it (like the ‘Ryan Industries Plasmids and Gene Tonics’ content above) you’ll have to wait until a week after the content is released to access it.

This is not done to annoy our Silver members—limited time exclusive access to content is just one of the many benefits of having a Gold Xbox Live account.

Has it officially been a week wait for Silver members prior to this post on www.majornelson.com ?

I honestly can't recall whether this is new, or has been the case for ages. To my recollection it was only some content in the past (maybe high demand stuff?).

no I don't think so, not across the board anyway, I'm sure it was just exclusive demos that gold members had priority on, I could be wrong though, either way it's a good thing, could free up some much need bandwith on new big demo releases in the future.

Taking the mick now TBH.
I've no problem with freebies being restricted for a week, but demos is a massive no-no in my opinion. The point of these is to get you to purchase the game- Delaying is only going to annoy people & make them less likely to buy the game in future.

Not really. I pay £40 for Gold. I want everything before a silver member, including having improved bandwidth for the first week.

naaaaaaaaaaaaa, seven days delay is nothing, say a demo of a game you badly want comes out, are you really after seven days not going to bother downloading it ?,

anyway you can get a 12month live voucher of the bay for like £30 these days, that 25p a week, 25p, 25p !!!!!!!!!!!, my god, it's just silly money.

I would prefer the downloads were on seperate servers (obviously Gold ones being better from our fees). And quite possibly a slight decrease in prices. say 50 point reduction per item for Gold members.

So everyone gets simultaneous content (free/demo or otherwise) but Gold guys get discount and faster speeds.

Yep, just because it peeves me off something rotten. MS are trying to milk the customers for all they're worth, I've got no objection to paying for things which I consider reasonable, such as decent multiplayer servers, lack of dashboard ads (IIRC, still there in Gold, again hacks me off something rotten) & freebies, but IMHO demos should always be available to everyone at the same time.

The moneys not so important really, a huge amount of it is the feeling that to do anything of any use online with the Xbox you're being forced to pay.

I'm on Silver and would find it pretty annoying to have to wait an extra week for a demo, other stuff I can cope with.

nearly as bad as not being able to canel your subscribtion if paid by credit card, they have everything else in your profile, why not a canel button instead of having to ring them up then hope that they don't take the cash

What's with saying something negative in every 360 thread lately? Changing it up or trying to re-address the balance?
I've never had a problem stopping payment on a card. I rang them up once, said I didn't want to pay on a card any more and it was stopped. I then purchased a 12-month code, entered it on the website and everything was perfect.

I have cancelled 3 accounts via the phone, never had a problem, even got a refund on 1 of them. And I have never had them take money from a card that is expired either I have always had to update my details.

Same here. I phoned them up last year and told them I would like to use subscription cards now. They removed the card details.

Gold members always had some exclusive demos for a bit then it went to silver. But as far as i know, silver can still download all the demos that Gold can and the free stuff too.
