I've had an Xbox 360 since launch day & have recently created and XBox live Silver account which has given me Gold access for a month.
I now have been given (as a present) a 12 Month Gold account.

Do I let the months free gold account expire or do I just go on to live and update my account by adding the number on the scratch card ??

Any help appreciated.

I thought you had to wait till the silver fully expires, otherwise it takes your gold account to silver when it goes, or something like that.

There is a bug that resets your account back to Silver after using the 1 month Gold trial. I've not had any problems myself as I transfered my Xbox Live! account over from my Xbox to the 360.

If I were you, play it safe and wait for your current trail to expire and then just use the 12 month code a day after.

Just a warning, whenever I entered my Live 12 Month Gold code, it totally replaced my 1 Month trial and I lost about 4 days of free Live.

Would be a long wait then. Silver accounts are free with 360 and don't expire.

Just add in the code and it will top-up any remining time you have.

think he meant wait for the current gold trial to end, then top up again with the 12month code, thats the safe way to do it
