Mooching... in your house
Hi guys :)

Just bought a 360 SE from the MM :D (never had a 360 before) and want to use it to watch sky (we have sky hd with sports and a few other goodies)... Does anyone know if I need to buy Live Gold or will Silver do?

Or should I simply get Gold anyway? the only real reason seems to be playing others online but i'm not really into that anyway is there another good reason?

You will need Gold to watch Sky.

Gold also allows Facebook/Twitter access on the 360, and you also get offers on content from time to time and get to download demos earlier than silver users.

Right, gotta get gold anyway then, thats cool...

Naah you don't need multiroom if you have their unlimited broadband package ;)

Gonna tag on 2 more questions:

1) does the 360 universal remote work with Sky? and does it need direct line of sight? (the XBox is going to be sortof hidden...)

2) you can get the Gold membership from the bay for around 25 quid if they just send you a scan of the card... is this a bit dodgy? better to just do it through the xbox and pay the £39.99?

Get your gold membership online, not direst from MS. It's been talked about a lot on here.
I got mine from here £26 for 12 months, emailed code in 15 minutes.

Cheers guys :)

I'm gonna buy the sky entertainment pack with is £14.99 and includes a media remote and 3 months gold membership (even though the remote is £17.99 on its own)...

Then I'll use one of them places to buy it for a further 12 months :) - bargain!
