XBOX LIVE Wont log in ?

My son has been unable to log in to his xbox live account.

He has a couple of spare accounts and he has no issues on those, but his main one he has used for years and he has loads of points and acheivements etc on it.

So, can anyone give me any info / sugestions as to WTF is up with it?

We get no error codes or anything like that, it just says signing in and then it has failed to sign in and thats all?
 
Try logging in on Xbox.com and see if that works. If not then you will need to do a password rest on the account.
 
We are perfectly able to log in on the PC. We have full access to everything with the PC, the XBOX itself is also fully able to access the dashboard, but not actually log in.

We have also changed the pasword while we were at it, this is because we did have some issues logging on with the PC.

However, it also would not let us change it to the same one because that was already in use? ( Go figure )

When doing the tests, it comes back with everything working, it connects to the networks just fine and also the internet just fine.

It just wont log in to his account online or play games
 
The lad has tons of points. He is a nutter for COD:MW

Will that not wipe his stuff?

How can we download/recover the profile?

I need to know before I do anything that will make him want to kill me!

EDIT:

He knows how to Download but it was telling him that the account is already in use ( i think.. Hang on )

Anyway, he says he does not know how to delete the account on his XBOX

I need to give him a laptop to play online next to the xbox rather than mess about down here and then run up
