Gold and Silver accounts. What are the main difference? I recall reading that Silver was weekend only online play and gold was anytime?

Silver does not allow any online gameplay at all. But you still get access to the downloads etc. (Although there was a one-off 'free week' during the tokyo game show and X06 to give silver members the chance to try out online play)

If you want online multiplayer games then you will need to buy Xbox Live Gold subscription.

Plus when you create an xbox live account, you get a one month trial of Gold before it reverts to Silver.

That's a bit crap. Oh well I here you can get them for £23 quid if you look. I might get the WebCam with 12 months anyway. Anyone know when it is released?

Mine is currently being packed, so I'll get it in the next couple of days.

To start with you can use it to web cam style vision chats and as it's usb you can also stick it into your PC.

Some games allow an ingame picture from the camera (taxas hold 'em poker etc) and some future games are planning on letting you take still pictures of your face and mapping them into 3d and onto the ingame avatar.

Totem Ball, a new free arcade game is controlled by waving your arms in front of the camera; not quite sure how this will work but should be a good laugh with my daughter and mrs.

I've read they have some quite big plans for the camera so I'd expect to see many more 'gesture' based games.

There's a video of the camera in action here: http://www.majornelson.com/archive/2006/09/16/Show-193-WMV-The-Vision-video-podcast.aspx

Seems like a gimmick at the moment. I have enough problems talking on LIVE! let alone web camming.

I will wait until something decent is released for it before paying out any my money for 360 related stuff...
