Hi all, my months free gold subscription as just ran out I tried to upgrade to the £5.99 a month gold premium but it would not except my card, my card was a Visa debit card the question I have is do you need a credit card to subscribe ?

No, buy a points card.
It will save you less hassle in the long run too.

where do you get a points card, and will that take the money from your card each month or do you need to buy a new card each month

You can buy them from the shops or online in either 3, 6 or 12 month cards (primarily the latter), you then buy another when it runs out. It's very expensive doing stuff month by month.

I see what you mean if I did it monthly @ £5.99 x 12 = £71.88 I have just looked on-line and you can buy a 12 month card for £34.99 less than half price.

Nokkon is right, get the cards & don't bother with your credit card details, Removing the details for one is a pita.

Indeed. 12 months through Xbox Live is only £40 too, you get charged more for the monthly payments, but there have been problems with MS, cancelling, charging of cards and banning of accounts from missed payments, search the forums to see what I mean.
I never had any problems, and I believe they are minimal, but doing it through a 12 month card removes all problems.
