Hi All

My son has a new XBOX and is wanting Xbox live! reading all the manuals etc it looks like there are several ways to get this; hooking up wires and cables and so on but my question is there a way to do this without trailing wires downstairs from his bedroom to the internet connection downstairs? i.e. can I plug it into a wireless router and if so what would I need to get extra? I have an ethernet cable.

I'm very green about this so any advice would be appreciated

Kind Regards

you could buy the official wireless adapter from Microsoft. costs about £40/50. Worth it though, never had any problems with mine :)

Thanks chrisxuk

So with the network adapter I presume you plug that into the Xbox! is the signal from that then picked up by the router downstairs so there is no need for cables/wires?

Many thanks that's seems clear, anyone recommend a decent place to buy the network adapter or do you have to buy from Microsoft/XBOX direct?

Kind Regards

Tophe

What the hell is a home plug? wiring etc is not my thing really, I know of network adapters and as long as it does the job with the router then I think I plump for that.

Thanks to all who have responded

Homeplug = Plug one end in the mains near the xbox, one end in near your router, and use your houses wiring as a network. Dead easy to setup and no visible wires.
