Hi there.

My son has had an Xbox One for many years (must have at least 30 physical discs plus more downloaded) but wanted a gaming PC, which I bought him for Christmas.

He now seems to spend all his time on the PC and I was wondering what to do with the Xbox.

He has already removed Fortnite from the Xbox and put this on the PC, which was free, but we have also rebought GTA5 for the PC.

Should he:

1. Sell the Xbox and all its games and use the proceeds to rebuy the games he likes, again on the PC? There are quite a lot of Xbox games that he never plays.

2. Sell the Xbox but use an emulator to play the Xbox games on the PC? Do these work for every game and are they any good?

3. Keep both machines?

He used to buy lots of cheap used Xbox games on E-bay, can you get similar used games for the PC?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks everyone - seems that it is pretty clear that PC only is the way to go.

I hadn't realised that PC games were that much cheaper to begin with.

I bought my boy a used copy of WWE 2K22, of an "auction site" for £12.00 but have found that the later edition, 2k23, is available for just £9.99. Brand new, the later edition is over three times that on the Xbox One.

Seems that selling the Xbox and all the games would easily fund rebuying the games that he really likes (Red Redemption 2, Halo Collection etc).

Do you think I should sell everything as a job lot or all the games individually?

Also - thanks for the tip about Game Pass for the PC. Again, I did not realise that was possible and is another great option that we will also consider.
