Has anyone used the xbox one for blu rays yet? Have currently got a 360 and ps3 that I use for blu rays and was initially going to upgrade both to ps4 and one but on realising neither are backwards compatible I'm unsure whether to bother at all. I tend to use the 360 for games and ps for blu rays and gran turismo so am wondering if replacing the ps3 with the xbox one might be best for me if the one is as good as ps3 at least for blu rays.

I went over to my mates house the other day and watched a few Blurays on it, including the Hobit and I didnt see any issues, using the kinect is cool, the voice commands for putting sound up and down, plus pausing is cool :)

Does that answer your questions?

PS4 will be better for Blu-rays. Blu-ray = Sony.

Yes mate thanks certainly helps. I presume it does hd audio? Just been looking at all my game rentals and they are all xbox one bar a couple that are only only on the playstation. May wait till a test in a home cinema mag and if one as good as ps4 think ill just get one and use my 360 till finished all my 360 rental games.

And get a new reciever instead of ps4

Right now the PS3 (slim variant) is still better for BD support, than either next-gen consoles - it will take a while for them to catch it up...

It does look like out of the box the XO has better BD title support over the PS4, havent got a clue regards the audio side as its quite a sticking point dependent on your own audio setup (if you use optical Id stick with the PS3 for BDs)

3d blu ray doesn't bother me to be honest. The xbxo would be connected via hdmi to reciever so I'm sure will support most audio but I'll have to look into it

What was wrong with my post please?

Well it seems to be inaccurate, that's what.

Generally the Xbox One seems to get the more favourable review - if you can't be bothered to read the whole thing then skip to the conclusions. Personally I don't think there'll really be anything in it and that there'll be no real difference to the average person. Since I'll have both consoles as of tomorrow I'll give it a go and see for myself.

From my experience so far the X1 is a terrible blueray player. Tried Avatar and its was unwatchable. Stutters a lot and goes out of sync every now and then. Ps3 is far superior for films.

Xbox support are apparently well aware of the issue.

There's a 24hz option in the settings but havnt tried it to see if it cures the problem.

I've not had any problems with my Xbox One playing BD movies. I enabled 24p in the settings but it was fine on the BDs I tried even before doing so. I haven't tried Avatar however but something must be wrong with your setup somewhere though. They wouldn't release a machine and advertise it as playing BDs if it constantly stutters.

I thought there might have been something wrong with my setting somewhere until a friend said he noticed the same issues. Checked online and there are a few threads with complaints about it.

Ill try a few other films. Just hope its fixable.
