Xbox one blu ray

I will give it a go, thanks :)

Never had an issue with the ps3 playing films. I know the 24p option is there but ive never enabled it.

There's no disadvantage enabling 24p is there??

Never had any probs with my ps3 bd but my xbox one play back is stuttering quite bad will give the 24hz option a try

Watched an hour of Avatar in 24p mode as it was fine. Lip sync was a tad out for say 10 seconds about 5 minutes in but that was it.

It's good enough for me. The PS3 is going in a cupboard somewhere.

I would have thought a blue ray would play at 24hz as that's what most are recorded at. I have read issues in the UK if you use the passthrough feature of the one something to do with us being 50hz and USA being 60hz.

Well it seems to be inaccurate, that's what.

Generally the Xbox One seems to get the more favourable review - if you can't be bothered to read the whole thing then skip to the conclusions. Personally I don't think there'll really be anything in it and that there'll be no real difference to the average person. Since I'll have both consoles as of tomorrow I'll give it a go and see for myself.

That's fair enough, but in the long run, I think the PS4 will do better. Sony have far more experience with Blu-rays than Microsoft do.

From a 'stick a film in and watch it' point of view it seems basically identical to a PS3. Kinect offers a different way to control certains things but other than that they are pretty similar.

PS4 will be better for Blu-rays. Blu-ray = Sony.

Yes i'm impressed by the xbox one's blu ray playback and its still very early days so it will improve overtime, love how quiet my xbox one is in quiet scenes, I think the cooling system is excellent and hopefully we won't see many overheating/fan noise problems in the years ahead.

Its a blu-ray player, What exactly is it that sony will do "better"

You're aware that there's a crap load of blu-ray players on the market. Do you think only the Sony models are worth having?

Are we aware what the branding is on the XboxONE Blu-ray drive?

Seriously the post you made has zero substance.

Apple Computer, Inc.
Dell Inc.
Hewlett Packard Company
Hitachi, Ltd.
LG Electronics Inc.
Matsu****a Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.
Mitsubishi Electric Corporation
Pioneer Corporation
Royal Philips Electronics
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd.
Sharp Corporation
Sony Corporation
Sun Microsystems, Inc.
TDK Corporation
Thomson Multimedia
Twentieth Century Fox
Walt Disney Pictures
Warner Bros. Entertainment

These companies all have a finger in the blu-ray pie. Note Samsung, pioneer, Hitachi and LG. All drive manufacturers. It's even possible one of their blu-ray drives resides within the XBoxONE.

Just talking to the guy in work... he said that it looks like the xbox one will be supporting Sky boxes as well so you can tell it to Pause and Record, its not available yet but according to him it will be very soon.

You can also game and watch TV at the same time, which is pretty cool on the same screen :)

Interesting read, not seen those before.

It still doesn't support 3D blu-rays though

Not the only thing Sony forgot to put on it. :p

The Xbone is very good with playing both CD's and DVD/Bluray. Stays very quiet while it plays too. Voice commands are rather cool to use. Very happy with it.

Compared to my ps3, there seems to be less noise in the picture.

I have been using the xbox one smart glass app and once connected my iPhone is a nice little controller. Great when I leave the xb pad on my desk :)

makes movies in even better, no issues with the bluray on my part here
