Hi. I am using Windows 10, and since the last Windows Update (1-2 days ago), I've been experiencing this problem, which has never happened before:
I'm using an Xbox Series S/X controller, connected via a USB cable to my PC.
In all games and "controller test" apps, the left thumb controller and the left D-pad skip forward "two times" when I press in any direction. This is most noticeable when in a game menu - pressing up or down on either the thumb controller or D-pad will move the cursor along by 2 items instead of 1. If I move the thumb controller very slowly, and halfway along its length of travel, it will move by 1 item; but moving it to the end of its travel in any direction will move me by 2 menu items. This also makes games unplayable and unpredictable.
The first time it happened, I power cycled the PC (off, waited, back on) and it resolved. But then it happened again, and I can't fix it now. The main game I'm trying to play is Rocket League, via Epic Games Launcher.
In my efforts to resolve this, I've done this, and now I'm at a loss:
* Rebooted the PC (and turned it off, left for a long time, turned on again)
* Checked for any more Windows Updates - all are installed
* Used a different Xbox Series X/S controller, and used two Xbox One controllers - same with all
* Tried a different USB cable
* Tried different USB ports, including ones on the back of the PC
* Updated the Xbox controller software with the Xbox Accessories app
* Uninstalled the Xbox Controller driver from Device Manager and rebooted
It must surely be a Windows / driver issue. I haven't found anything online that seems to help. Any suggestions please? Thank you in advance!
Phil
